Frequently asked questions

Can this 3-day express trip be run via Kigali Airport?

Yes. Starting in Kigali cuts road transfer times to 4–5 hours, making a 3-day drive-in tour very manageable.

What is included in the $1,500 Gorilla Habituation Permit fee?

The fee covers 4 hours of viewing, national park entrance fees, UWA ranger/researcher guide services, and park security.

Are habituation permits refundable if I fall ill?

UWA offers a partial refund policy (or permit rescheduling) if you report illness prior to the trek, as sick visitors are not permitted near gorillas to prevent disease transmission.

Is Wi-Fi available at Rushaga mid-range lodges?

Yes, most mid-range lodges provide complimentary Wi-Fi access in main lounge and dining areas.

How far in advance should this 3-day express safari be booked?

Due to the strict daily limit of 4 habituation permits per group, bookings should be finalized 6 to 12 months ahead.
