Frequently asked questions

What is the age limit for chimpanzee tracking versus gorilla trekking?

The minimum age for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale is 12 years old, while gorilla trekking in Bwindi requires guests to be at least 15 years old.

Are hopper flights available between Kasese and Kihihi airstrips?

Yes, scheduled domestic airlines run daily inter-park flights linking Kasese (Kibale/Queen Elizabeth) with Kihihi (Bwindi).

How far in advance should I book this fly-in double primate tour?

Because both primate permits and domestic flight seats have limited availability, booking 4 to 6 months in advance is strongly recommended.

Kibale Forest has the highest population of habituated chimps in East Africa, with a sighting success rate over 95%.

Are soft-sided bags mandatory for inter-park hopper flights?

Yes, soft-sided duffel bags are required on all internal aircraft due to small cargo compartments.
